The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued Notification No.06/2025 for the recruitment of Forest Beat Officer (FBO) and Assistant Beat Officer (ABO) posts under the A.P. ✅ Educational Eligibility for APPSC FBO ABO Jobs 2025
Candidates applying for the post of Forest Beat Officer (Post Code 01) and Assistant Beat Officer (Post Code 02) must fulfill the following educational qualification:
- Must have passed Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent.
✅ Physical Eligibility Criteria for FBO and ABO Posts
Applicants must meet the following physical standards to be considered eligible for the post of FBO or ABO:
For Male Candidates:
- Height: Not less than 163 cm
- Chest: Not less than 84 cm on full inspiration
- Chest Expansion: Minimum of 5 cm
For Female Candidates:
- Height: Not less than 150 cm
- Chest: Not less than 79 cm on full inspiration
- Chest Expansion: Minimum of 5 cm
✅ Relaxation in Physical Standards
- Relaxation of 5 cm in height is allowed for candidates belonging to:
- Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, NAFA, Naga, Manipur, Gauhati, Kummoni, Sikkimese, Bhutanese and Scheduled Tribes
- In case of Scheduled Tribe candidates, if the quota remains unfilled due to physical constraints:
- Height: Minimum 158 cm
- Chest: Minimum 78.8 cm on full inspiration
- Chest Expansion: 5 cm

- Candidates must have normal eyesight apart from the prescribed physical standards.
✅ APPSC FBO ABO Walking Test Details
After qualifying the written exam, candidates must undergo a Walking Test which is a qualifying physical endurance test.
- For Male Candidates: Walk 25 kms in 4 hours
- For Female Candidates: Walk 16 kms in 4 hours
Note: No marks will be awarded for the walking test. It is mandatory to qualify.
✅ Bonus Marks for NCC Certificate Holders
Candidates who qualify in the physical tests and hold NCC certificates will receive bonus marks:
- NCC “C” Certificate: 5 marks
- NCC “B” Certificate: 3 marks
- NCC “A” Certificate: 1 mark
Bonus marks are added only if the candidate clears physical tests and CPT.
✅ Medical Examination Requirement
- All selected candidates must undergo a medical examination at the Medical Board in Rajamahendravaram.
- A Health Certificate must be produced, confirming:
- General physical fitness
- Normal hearing
- Suitability for outdoor forest duties
- Successful vaccination marks

- Final selection is based on:
- Written Exam Marks
- Physical Tests (Walking + Medical)
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) – Must Qualify
